On 21st and 22nd April in Odessa, the scientific and practical seminar was held on the topic of “Heuristics and psychology of decision-making. System analysis of Gerd Gigerenzer’s works”

XXI century necessitates one to make error free decisions on time, and this condition of the century became some sort of an ultimatum. Thus, the topic of the seminar was highly relevant both for business executives and for employees who seek to increase their value in the labor market.
Within the framework of the seminar applicants got acquainted with the works of Professor Gerd Gigerenzer for the first time, Gerd Gigerenzer is an author of the book “Gut Feelings – The Intelligence of the Unconscious”, the director of Max Planck Institute for Educational Research in Berlin.

Each participant of the seminar got an access to the books of Gigerenzer, which were translated into Russian by the researchers of the Memory Institute.

The seminar covered the following topics:
– How does one make decisions?
– Why “the standard” leads to “wrong”?
– How to successfully cope with the difficulties of choice making in a variety of real life situations?
– What are the simple principles which allow to avoid unreasonable fears or hopes?

One of the key tasks was to enhance professional qualification of partner companies’ current staff and guests who came from 6 cities of Ukraine to participate in the seminar.

Lectures of the seminar were conducted by the candidate of psychological sciences Oleg Maltsev, the scientific leader of the Academy of the Professional Services Industry.

The seminar was organized by Academy of the Professional Services Industry (APSI), which is an official project of the German law company Neuchmann.
